Once upon a time' a Cub Scout went walking along the shore. The first one he met was CRICKET___.
"Good morning, Mr. CRICKET___." said the Cub Scout. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh" said the CRICKET___, "I'm singing so the THING___ won't catch me.
"Where is the THING___?" asked the Cub Scout.
"Oh, he's around," said the CRICKET___ mysteriously.
Soon the Cub Scout met DUCK___.
"Good morning, Mrs. DUCK___", he said. "What are you doing?"
"I'm swimming so the THING___ won't catch me.
"Where is the THING___?" asked the Cub Scout.
"He's under the blue," answered the Duck ___.
The Cub Scout wondered if that meant under the sky. He walked along a little further and soon met a SNAKE___ slithering along the shore.
"Good morning, Mr. SNAKE___" said the Cub Scout. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm sneaking away so the THING___ won't catch me," replied the SNAKE___.
"Where is the THING___?" asked the Cub Scout.
"Under the gold", replied the SNAKE___.
And the Cub Scout thought he meant under the sun. Soon he met the FROG___ sitting on a lily pad.
"Good morning, Mr. FROG___," said the Cub Scout. What we you doing here?"
"I'm sitting on a lily pad to keep the THING___ from catching me" said the FROG___.
"Where is the THING___?" asked the Cub Scout, who was beginning to be a little afraid.
"In the blue" answered the FROG___.
The Cub Scout walked on and said, "I wish somebody could show me the THING___."
"Good morning, Cub Scout" said the BROOK___. I can show you the THING___. Just look in my face." The Cub Scout looked into the BROOK___ and he saw....the Cub Scout.
